CRISTIAN LEYVA COMMENT ABOUT "GOSTOSO BRASIL (sessions 1 & 2)"

I love Mexico. It´s my country after all. I love our culture, our people, our cities, our towns, our beaches, our music & I'm so proud to be a mexican guy. But, it doesn't mean that I can't love other countries or cultures.

That's the reason why I took the decision to make this little tribute to a land full of temptation, full of live, full of music, full of color, full of "CARNAVAL & FESTA".

This verse belongs to the song that is openning this session. The name of the song is "AQUARELA DO BRASIL". Composed in early 1939 by Ary Barroso. This is a samba-exaltação, a samba exulting in the beauties of the land. "AQUARELA DO BRASIL" is arguably, the greatest popular song of all times in Brazil. In 1997 it was voted Best Brazilian Song Of The Century by a jury of thirteen experts assembled by the Brazilian Academy Of Letters. Better known to the world as "Brazil", this samba has been recorded innumerable times by all manner of artists, from the sublime to the ridiculous. I think in my session sounds sublime ;o) I hope so! Ha! Seriously, this song is very important to Brazil. And that's the reason why it is openning my session now.

Maybe the session "GOSTOSO BRASIL" doesn't have many songs in portuguese & maybe I don't know very well the customs in Brazil; but it doesn't mean that it doesn't have a sound inspired by this magical land.

Just pay attention to the latin sounds in there. The kettle drums in "LIKE A PRAYER", the guitar in "SOMBRITA", the sound of tribal music (which one is like a fusion of dance percussion sounds of the african and south american tribes in samples with folklorical traits).

I'm really, really proud of these TWO SESSIONS. I like both of them. A lot!

YES, I SAID TWO SESSIONS! Because the party never ends, this time I included "GOSTOSO BRASIL AFTER HOURS".

So, in carnaval season. Let's dance the night away to this brazilian beat. Play it & enjoy it.

COMENTARIO DE CRISTIAN LEYVA ACERCA DE "GOSTOSO BRASIL (SET MIXES 1 Y 2)

Amo México. Es mi país después de todo. Amo nuestra cultura, nuestra gente, nuestras ciudades, nuestros pueblos, nuestras playas, nuestra música y estoy muy orgulloso de ser un muchacho mexicano. Pero, eso no quiere decir que no pueda querer a otros países o a otras culturas.

Esa es la razón del porque tomé la decisión de hacer un pequeño tributo a una tierra llena de tentación, llena de vida, llena de música, llena de color, llena de "CARNAVAL & FESTA".

Este verso pertenece a la canción que está abriendo este set mix. El nombre de la canción es "AQUARELA DO BRASIL". Compuesta en el inicio del año 1939 por Ary Barroso. Esta canción es una samba-exaltação, una samba resaltando las bellezas de su tierra. "AQUARELA DO BRASIL" es indiscutiblemente, la más grandiosa canción popular de todos los tiempos en Brasil. En 1979 fué elegida por votos como Mejor Canción Del Siglo por un jurado de trece expertos congregados por le Academia Brasileña de Letras. Mejor conocida por el mundo como "Brasil", ésta samba ha sido grabada innumerables ocasiones por artístas de todo tipo, desde lo sublíme hasta lo ridículo. Yo pienso que en mi set mix suena sublíme ;o) ¡Eso espero! ¡Ha! Ya en serio, esta canción es muy importante para Brasil. Y esa es la razón del porque está abriendo mi set mix esta ocasión.

Talvez este set mix "GOSTOSO BRASIL" no tiene muchas canciones en portugués y talvez yo no conozco muy bien las costumbres en Brasil; pero, eso no significa que no tenga un sónido inspirado por esta tierra mágica.

Sólo presta atención a los sonidos latinos que hay en el set. Los timbales en "LIKE A PRAYER", la guitarra en "SOMBRITA", el sónido de la música tribal (la cual es una fusión de sónidos de percusión bailables de las tribus africanas y sudamericanas en "samples" (muestras) con toques folklóricos.

Estoy muy, muy orgulloso de estos DOS SET MIXES. Me gustan ambos. ¡Y mucho! ¡SÍ, DIJE DOS SET MIXES! Porque la fiesta nunca termina, esta ocasión Incluí "GOSTOSO BRASIL AFTER HOURS".

Asi que, en temporada de carnaval. Bailemos hasta que la noche acabe con este "beat" brasileño. Reprodúcelo y disfrútalo.
